On October 17 our Sask DLC teachers took Kindergarten to Grade 8 students on a walk led by Sadi Rose Vaxvick, who is from Ochapowace First Nations, to Wellesley Park in Moose Jaw. Students talked about the history of the Wakamow Valley, which was home to a number of Indigenous groups, learned about the plants that inhabit the area, participated in some medicine picking and even got to plant a tree.
